How to make a
profitable business. Ticket
business.
Part 1: Starting your business
When you first start a
business it is recommended that you create a "home business." Home businesses are best because youc an
easily get you needs back because you are at home. They are also cheaper to set
up as you don't need to buy a communiy lot.
When you start your
business you should use as few employee's as possible. The best type of
business is a pay-per-hour business using the ticket machine. These require no
employee's and, if you keep the ticket price low enough, can be sold by any sim
with only a "basic sell" interaction.
Great ticket machine
businesses:
-Poker table: all you need is a poker table and four chairs
and your customers will stay for hours.
you can earn more money by having a controlled Sim play.
-Spa: This is a bit more
expensive but gets much higher ticket prices and keeps Sims happy for longer.
At this point you should
be working on the "Cash" business perks. These will help you afford a
better business later.
Part 2: Growing your
business.
At this point you should
have at least a bronze sales badge. Keep working on gaining that skill. Put
your ticket prices up to about 100 Simoloeons. When a customer wants to
purchase your ticket (the buy bar is above there head) get your sim to blast
him with "basic sell" continually until he either buys the ticket or
goes away. Continue this process over the next couple of days until your sim
has a gold sales talent badge. At this point you will notice that your sim is
getting customers to buy with only one dazzle. If this is so, use two dazzles
because Sims will always gain a customer loyalty star on the second dazzle. At
this point you should be working to fill the "perception" perks. You
can know bump your ticket prices up to about Three to four hundred simoleons.
Part 3: Moving to a community
lot.
When you have at LEAST
40,000 Simoleons or more it is recommended that you move to a community
lot. Buy a small to medium sized lot and bulid a very basic business. You can
set the ticket machine to about 500 simoleons and get a roaring trade. BUT. you
may have noticed the severe motive decay each tim you use dazzle. It is
Impossible to use more than 15 dazzles in a row without having your sim pass
out. This is when we introduce the
Snapdragon Bouquet (Made with the florist crafting station). As you may have
noticed, every five minutes or so, a snapdragon will let of a puff of pink
smoke which increases your sims motives. By placing hundreds, even thousands of
these around your business you can keep your controlled Sim, as well as all
your customers needs in the green. The other very important item is the
industrial sized espresso machine. If drank extremely regularly, this drink can
keep your controlled sim awake forever.
Once you have completed
this you can bump your ticket prices up tom about 1000 simoleons per hour. At
this price you can very rich, very quick. But if your greedy I'ts time to move
on to.......
Part 4: Becoming a
billionaire.By now you should have a
very high ranking bussiness as well as "manipulation" sales social.
The idea now is to increase the number of sims on your lot. Use the phone to
call rich sims and get them into your lot. As you do this try to prevent other
Sims from leaving by serving espresso and placing more snapdragons. Try putting
the price of tickets up. In my game I can get the price up to 11,000 simoleons.
With 20 sims on your lot thta works out to 222,000 Simoleons per hour, Thats
5,328,000 Simoleons per day.
Business ideas:
- Gym, A lot harder to manage as sims energy goes
down much more rapidly.
- Nightclub, Sims love pool tables and bright disco
lights. Works best if you hire a DJ and a Bartender.
- Bowling alley, Very
expensive to set up but can hold a lot of sims and keeps them entertained
forever...and ever...
- Spa / Bathouse, Very
profitable but expensive to set up. Sims will stay in a spa for days at a time.
Retail:
Part 1: Tips to save
costs
- Get the controlled sim
to be both the sales person and the restocker. (this becomes more difficult as
your business grows)
- Get a cashier with no
talent badges as they're cheaper. To
stop inexperienced cashiers from stuffing up use the cash register by Numenor

http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=215417-Set your prices to
expensive, They sell just as well.
- Don't over decorate. Who
really needs a 10,000 Simoleon statue in a grocery store?
- Do not sell crafted
objects such as toys and robots as they cost to much to make and require a
crafting station, an employee to craft them and heaps of time.
- Don't bother with the
Phone display, magazine display, clothes rack, video game rack, perfume display
or grocery displays. They are to expensive to buy and are sold for next to nothing.
- keep your employee's
working as long as possible by using snapdragons, espresso and regular breaks.
One of the first things to
remember when running a retail business is to only expand when you are in a
profit. A lot of people make there business bigger as soon as they have spare
cash. This is stupid because there is no point making your business bigger and
more expensive to run if your not making money. To increase profit, try
charging your customers 5 simoleons with the ticketing machine just to visit
your shop.
